Chennai : Institute for Financial Management and Research, (IFMR) Chennai emerged as the winner of the CFA Institute Research Challenge India South Zonal Final (www.iaipirc.org), after competing with nine other student teams from leading business schools on the subject company ‘Infosys.’ The competition organized by the Indian Association of Investment Professionals (IAIP) is supported by National Stock Exchange (NSE) (www.nseindia.com), Bloomberg (www.bloomberg.com), Bloomberg TV (www.bloombergtv.com, www.yourmoneysite.com) and Corporate Bridge (www.educorporatebridge.com) as sponsors and long-term corporate partners. The panel of judges was Krishnan Parameswara Iyer, Managing Director, DNB Investment Services (India) Pvt Ltd; Suresh Krishnamurthy, Director, Global Financial Research at CRISIL Global Research & Analytics; Roshi Jain, Vice President & Portfolio Manager, Equities, Franklin Templeton India AMC Ltd and Satish Ramanathan CFA, Head Equities, Sundaram BNP Paribas.

“Since the enthusiasm spread, we have been hosting the local rounds of CFA Institute Research Challenge in the East, West, North and South zones of India. This year, with the support from CFA charterholders and members of IAIP, we extend the competition to Central zone. CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual, global educational initiative promoting the best practices in equity research among the next generation of analysts through hands-on mentoring and intensive training in company analysis and presentation skills. Other participating teams in the South Zonal final included ISB, Hyderabad,  Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai,  IIM Kozhikode, IIM Bangalore,  IIM Trichy, IIT Madras, T A Pai Management Institute Manipal and Bharatidasan Institute of Management Tiruchirapalli.
