  • IIJT receives the Skills Champion: Emerging Warrior Award at FICCI’s 5th Global Skill Summit at New Delhi

    New Delhi : TeamLease-IIJT, one of India’s fastest growing career skills training organization has been felicitated with the FICCI-LeapVault Skills Champion of India Award today for extraordinary contribution in developing technologies, distinctive training solutions, path breaking research and its commitment towards the skilling movement in the country.

    Honorable Union Minister for Human Resource Development Kapil Sibal felicitated Ashok Reddy, MD TeamLease IIJT as the Emerging Warrior in the Skills Champion category at the 5th Global Skills Summit which concluded here, today. The Skills Champion awards are a celebration of the exemplary work done by leaders, businessmen, bureaucrats, and others in making skill development the fastest growing industry in India.

    Speaking at the event, Ashok Reddy, MD, TeamLease-IIJT said that, “This is an honor for us and we are glad that our hard work has delivered fruitful results. I share this award with every member of TeamLease-IIJT who has contributed in developing the skills of many people for better employment. Our aim of bridging the employability gap and supporting the industry’s demand for skilled manpower gets a boost with such rewards and I thank FICCI for recognizing our efforts”.

    TeamLease-IIJT is the first vocational training institute to launch a country-wide VSAT facility to enable last mile access to employability enhancement training. The VSAT infrastructure enables IIJT to give quality career skills training to all candidates, even those in more remote locations who may have been limited by lack of access to quality faculty, infrastructure and exposure to industry professionals.

    To ensure industry relevant curriculum, the TeamLease National Employment Framework (TNEF) a research and development outfit of TeamLease undertakes studies on entry level ideal candidate profiles (ICPs) across industries.f

    TeamLease-IIJT is also in the process of establishing TeamLease Skills University in partnership with the Government of Gujarat, while it also operates India’s first Public Private Employment Exchange with the Government of Karnataka and is implanting various skill projects in partnership with various state governments.

    TeamLease-IIJT’s initiative to provide employment to the job seekers has proved very fruitful and they have been able to provide placements to 3,563 candidates since February, 2011 till July, 2012. Total number of candidates trained by ILS (Institutional Learning Services) through the various PPP initiatives over the last 18 months is 11,026. After a year since establishing the Mangalore HRD Center, it has registered over 17,000 new job seekers and over 15,000 job seekers have attended interviews, while 2100 youth have already started working in various private organizations.

    Similarly, the Bijapur HRDC had registered over 5000 job seekers and has provided jobs to over 800 youth.

    IIJT NSDC Tie Up

    In June, 2011 TeamLease-IIJT entered into an agreement with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) with a mandate to train 1.8 million youth in 10 years. The aim is to 1.8 million unemployed school dropouts and college graduates in the next ten years across cities. IIJT will be setting up set up 209 centres in Tier I, 312 in TIER II, 311 in TIERIII, 222 in TIER IV and 295 in TIER V cities.

    Employment Generation and Marketing Mission (EGMM)

    In August 2011, TeamLease IIJT also collaborated with Employment Generation and Marketing Mission (EGMM) Department of Rural Development, Government of Andhra Pradesh to provide skill training and placement assistance to around 6000 youth from Rangareddy, Mahaboobnagar, Nizamabad, Warangal, Vizag, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, East Godavari, Krishna, West Godavari–Eluru, Guntur, Prakasam–Ongole, Chittoor and Khammam.

    IIJT-TeamLease Strategic Alliance

    In March 2010, IIJT entered into a strategic alliance with TeamLease, India’s No.1 staffing company.  Founded in 2002, TeamLease provides a range of temporary and permanent manpower solutions for more than 1300 clients. It has a vision of “Putting India to work” by using the 3E’s: Employment, Employability and Education. The company is the country’s largest HR services provider and currently has over 85,000 employees across 800 locations, giving it a national employment footprint.

    While India produces thousands of graduates every year, many of them lack practical skills and experience and are not job ready. The TeamLease-IIJT strategic alliance aims to help bridge this employability gap and support the industry’s demand for skilled manpower. While IIJT bolsters skills and employability, TeamLease enables productive employment, while also providing valuable input into training structure and design.
