  • IITF 2022: Kerala’s Kudumbashree, SAF stalls greet foodies with an ocean of non-veg delicacies

    New Delhi : Kerala’s Kudumbashree and SAF (Society for Assistance to Fisherwomen) food stalls have arranged a lot of southern dishes, especially Kerala’s own fish and other non-vegetarian delicacies, for the visitors of India International Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan. It is a rare opportunity for those who love spicy sea fish varieties, which are normally unavailable in the northern part of the country.

    Among the Kudumbashree’s delicious dishes, ultra-local flavours like kappa (tapioca)-fish curry, puttu (made of rice powder)- fish curry, chatti-pathiri, sambar-vada and porota are the most popular items. ‘Vanarani’ (meaning, queen of forest) is a very special dish that steals the hearts of the Delhi Malayalees. Vanrani Combo consists of dosa, chutney, soup and specially prepared chicken. Another special item is Black Cumin Chicken. Malabar Chicken Biriyani, Chicken Thoran, Egg Kabab and Chicken Kebab are in great demand at the Kudumbashree stall.

    A variety of seafood dishes are served at the SAF’s food stall. Five types of fish curries are available there. These curries are made of mackerel, shrimp, sardine, pomfret and seer fish. Fish Biriyani, Shrimp Biryani, Fish Curry Meals are in high demand. Carrot Payasam (‘payasam’ means kheer in Hindi) and Mathan Payasam are also available at the SAF food court.
