The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rainfall warning and ed fishermen not to venture into the sea in view of the northward-moving cyclonic storm Vaayu in the Arabian Sea.
Speaking to AIR, Director in-Charge, IMD, Goa K.V. Padgalwar informed that Vaayu is moving 250-300 km parallel to Goa towards Saurashtra in Gujarat and is expected to make landfall in the next 36 hours.
He added that while Vaayu is unlikely to impact Goa severely, the state may witness heavy rainfall over the next two days as a result.
