  • In Arunachal Pradesh, the forest officer seized the dried meat by killing wild animals in Banderdewa area.

    Guwahati : Forest department officials have seized a huge cache of wildlife meat and carcasses at the Doimukh check gate in Banderdeva area of Arunachal Pradesh. On Monday, cattle meats and bodies were seized during the checking operation at doimukh check gate. Senior forest officials wildlife said that the forest department officials of Arunachal Pradesh have rescued a large quantity of meat and dead bodies of wild animals at doihum check gate in Banderdeva area of Arunachal Pradesh with the help of police.

    The seating items included the bodies of two barking deer, dried wild pork, dried porcupine, forest fountains, squirrels, farm cots and 15 birds of three different creatures. The cattle and the body were migrated during the checking operation at the Doemukh check gate. The divisional forest officer of Banderdeva, HB Abo said that the bodies of most of the wild animals have been transported in a bus from eastern Kameng and Pucca Kesang districts. He also said that the birds were brought from Hodge village under Doemukh Circle.

    The meat of jungle foul will be sent to forensic laboratory for testing. The seized meat and dead bodies were later destroyed by the forest authorities at the Cola camp near Doimukh. The All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union has urged the state Government to initiate necessary action to prevent such illegal activities. Said, “This is the tendency of poachers to sell wild meat during the festive season and there is an urgent need to stop this practice.
