  • In One-Year “KIMS-LIVLIFE” helps people shed 8200 kilos excess body weight!

    Hyderabad : In one year of its existence, “KIMS-LIVLIFE” centre, a division of the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) has achieved a mammoth target of helping people shed 8200 kilograms of excess body weight through successful bariatric surgeries. A total of 230 procedures for removal of body fat were conducted to help these individuals recover to a better and healthier lifestyle.

     

    Started in February last year, KIMS-LIVLIFE, is an association between KIMS Hospitals and LIVLIFE Hospitals of Dr. Nandakishore Dukkipati. This Centre has emerged into a hugely popular alliance that brought the advanced facilities at KIMS Hospitals and the expertise of Dr. Dukkipati together.

     

    Speaking at a program to mark the completion of one-year association with LIVLIFE, Dr. B. Bhaskar Rao, Managing Director, KIMS Hospitals said, “Overweight is not just hazardous to health, but it also reduces efficiency in day-to-day life of an individual. KIMS believes in a healthy society, and advices prevention before cure! This association with Dr. Nandakishore Dukkipati gives a great satisfaction to me personally; because the KIMS-LIVLIFE centre helps people jump back into life with a lighter and efficient bodies. In his career Dr. Dukkipati who helps thousands of patients return to active lifestyle shedding lakhs of kilos of excess body fat; and I congratulate him on his accomplishments.

     

    Doctors also had a panel discussion on the topic of the growing disease that is Obesity. Experts from various fields such as cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, diabetologists, orthopaedics, gynaecologists and bariatric surgeons, all agreed to the harmful effects of obesity on all systems of the body resulting in various diseases. School principals, psychologists also emphasized the way obesity was affecting urban school children physically and emotionally with adult diseases showing up at a much younger age. They all agreed that a multi-pronged approach was needed to tackle obesity by increasing physical activity in schools and home and by consciously making children stay away from junk and unhealthy food habits. Celebrities who attended the event also agreed to promote awareness about Obesity and its health risks and help people take corrective action to fight this disease.

     

    Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nandakishore Dukkipati said, “Healthy living is every individual’s dream!
