Incepto 13 inspires budding brains

Kollam: Incepto’13, hosted by TKMCE at its Kollam campus was an exciting experience for the young engineering talents. The two-day technical Incepto2conclave could enthuse and enthral the budding brains.  Every session could enrich and encourage each of the participants.

Elaborating the intention of Incepto in his welcome address Prof S. Parameswaran, Principal of TKMCE  said that the teme of the event was “Moulding Technocrats with Inspiring Innovation”.  He reiterated that the event was conducted to provide the students a platform to test their skills, acquire knowledge that would prove to be crucial in their coming years. Dr Anil B, Chairman of ISTE Kerala chapter in his presidential address urged the young engineers invest their knowledge and expertise more to the society. Dr. S. Basil Gnanappa, executive secretary, ISTE,  while addressing the gathering emphasised the “role of youth in building a better India”. P.J George, former Executive Secretary, ISTE in his  key-note address  tried to highlight the problems and issues prevalent in the present engineering education system of India.

Awards to the winners for their commendable performance in last annual year were presented on the occasion. College of Engineering, Trivandrum bagged the “Best Chapter Award” of ISTE 2013.

The concluding day of the conclave was marked by  a workshop on ‘Industrial Safety’. The workshop proved useful to the students to understand the importance of adopting safety measures in the industry. It gave them some innovative ideas on countering crucial or critical accidents in various industries.

Apart from the workshop the closing day of ‘Incepto’13’ had many more interesting events and some of them had prizes worth more than one lakh rupees. The event ‘Robowar’ presented by Institute of Engineers Kollam depicted  the intense  battle between robots and this was an unusual attraction.
