    Published on March 3, 2011

The biggest challenge most MBA aspirants face today is finding a good bschool within Chandigarh. Out of the 5000 students who appear for the Punjab MBA entrance test, the top 5-10% can choose between the best colleges like UBS. But the others face a problem – how do they still find top quality education? While Punjab has 150 colleges offering 2 year MBA, the quality and placements of most is suspect. Independent surveys have highlighted that campus placement is generally less than 50% with very low salaries of less than Rs. 15,000 per month.

To fill this gap, Gurukul Vidyapeeth and Elements Akademia have joined hands to offer IIM quality education in the heart of Chandigarh.

Gurukul provides a 1 acre top notch facility right in Mohali, 60 SEATS each for MBA and PGDM programmes and 20 years of experience working with various bschools in Punjab. Gurukul is the only institute of the region using the latest Sun Ray Thin Client Technology and Apple Mac Technology in its High Tech labs. Elements Akademia, setup by 17 IIM alumni, will handle the entire operations. This will ensure 50% teaching done by IIM alumni/faculty, extensive personality development and employability modules and guaranteed 100%+ placements to scorers with 80% marks and above with a minimum salary package of Rs. 3.00 Lac to 5.00 Lac P.A. We also ensure delivery for achieving 80% and more. In the last 2 years, Elements has signed up 192 IIM alumni who teach in its partner colleges, and 42 consortium companies who recruited 500+ of its students in the last 2 years.

This model – of a professional Bschool management company providing high quality education is a novel concept that ensures students can stay in Chandigarh and still get the best of education and employment.

Nishant Saxena, Founder CEO of Elements Akademia and Guest Faculty at IIM Lucknow said, “We need to create the culture of a great bschool, where students work from morning 9 a.m. to night 9 p.m. In this time, they study academics, develop their personality, improve their English, interact with industry leaders, participate in co- and extra-curricular activities, and have a lot of education with fun & joy. Our faculty, drawn from the best of bschools, ensures just that.” Nishant is himself an IIM alumni and has worked for 10 years in India and abroad in companies like P&G. He is also a senior consultant to top companies like J&J, Nestle, KPMG, HT Media, Kraft, Cadbury etc.

CA Manmohan Garg, Founder CEO of Gurukul Vidyapeeth said, “I wanted my students in Gurukul Vidyapeeth to get exposure to the very best curriculum, teaching and placements. Hence the partnership with Elements Akademia. I believe this is an idea ahead of our times and will benefit the students immensely”. Manmohan Garg is a charted accountant by profession and possesses 17 years of varied experience in establishment and promotion of educational institutions in and around Chandigarh.

He has served as financial advisor /Taxation consultant to more than 20 educational Groups of this country before deciding to set up his own educational enterprenure.

So what can students look forward to at GVBS Mohali ? Very rigorous teaching and use of latest techniques like simulations, case study methods and role plays.
