  • India and Pakistan finalise draft visa policy

    India and Pakistan today finalised the draft of the new Bilateral Visa Agreement to ease travel for the nationals of either country desiring to visit the other. A Ministry of External Affairs statement said in New Delhi that the draft was finalised during the second meeting of the Joint Working Group on visa matters.

    The meeting also examined the modalities for streamlining the visa procedures. Indian side at the meeting was led by Anil Goswami, Additional Secretary (Foreigners), Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Pakistani side by his counterpart Nasar Hayat. The statement said that the discussions were held in a friendly and cordial atmosphere. The finalized text of the Agreement which will now be submitted to the respective governments for obtaining necessary approvals in order to sign the Agreement at an early date.
