  • India -Japan economic cooperation is on upswing: S Jaishankar

    External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar today said India and Japan have seen a very visible increase in economic cooperation. At the launch of India-Japan report by FICCI, Dr Jaishankar said, FDI inflows from Japan have gone up and the number of Japanese companies in India has also gone up. The Minister said Japan is the only country with which India has an annual summit as well as 22 dialogue. He stated that this show how much in sync the two countries are in terms of how they look at the world and define interests.


     
    Dr Jaishankar said, India has a vision for Indo-Pacific, as indeed does Japan. He said, both nations have in many ways tried to shape the Indo-Pacific narrative. He stressed that the seamlessness of what happens in the Pacific and Indian Ocean regions today underlines the importance and relevance of Indo-Pacific.
