Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee says, India is on the path of robust economic growth. He said it is backed by increased investment, capital inflows and stronger industrial output.The Finance Minister said at the launch of India Infrastructure Finance Company Ltd in New Delhi that long term resources to meet infrastructure investment requirement are a key challenge for the country. Mukherjee said constraint in financing infrastructure is related to the limits on banks lending to the sector due to asset-liability mismatch and spiraling cost of long term debt.

AIR correspondent reports there is a 30 percent gap in infrastructure funding requirement in the 12th Five Year Plan and the government plans to invest 1 trillion dollars on infrastructure development in the country during 12th plan.
