  • India-South Korea exchange 7 key agreements

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held delegation level talks with South Korean President Moon Jae-in. Both the leaders had extensive discussions covering all aspects of bilateral relationship towards infusing new momentum in the ties.

    Later, 7 MOUs and four pacts were signed between India and South Korea. MoU on cooperation in the field of biotechnology and bio-economics and MoU on cooperation in the field of ICT and Telecommunications.

    PM Modi gave the credit for the successful peace initiative currently underway in the Korean peninsula to president Moon.

    The Prime Minister signaled to the visiting dignitary that the two nations have the opportunity to synergize the diplomatic push as their strategies seem to be heading same way. He complimented the New Southern policy of South Korea and said that it is in perfect resonance with India’s act east policy.

    PM Modi also said that steps taken to further cement economic ties between two nations including the setting up of innovation cooperation centre and formation of future strategic group will prove beneficial to both the nations.

    Korean President Moon reciprocated the warmth and said that now is the time to promote cooperation in people, prosperity and peace for the 4th industrial revolution.

    Earlier, visiting dignitary South Korean President was given a ceremonial reception at the forecourts of Rashtrapati Bhawan. He was received by President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his arrival.

    Later, the South Korean President, along with his wife, visited Rajghat in New Delhi. They laid a wreath at the Samadhi of Mahatama Gandhi.

    President Moon then penned in the visitor’s book and he was presented a momento.
