Indian metal and mineral industry has a huge potential to grow and drive the global industry. Inaugurating a two-day International Conference on Minerals and Metals Outlook 2030 in New Delhi, Steel Minister Chaudhary Birendra Singh, said that despite various challenges and constraints, the sector is a leading employment generator in the country.

He said, several initiatives, including satellite mapping and high-tech equipment installation, have been taken to tackle any challenge.

The Minister stressed on reorienting of policy and technology to provide a further boost to the sector. Mr Singh invited global players to invest in the sector.
The conference was organised by the National Mineral Development Corporation as part of its Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Over 500 delegated from nearly 16 countries are participating in the event.
