Indo-American Society (IAS) Appoints Mr. Snehal N Muzoomdar as its New President

Mumbai: The Indo-American Society (IAS), one of the premier institutions in the country, promoting Indo-US Educational, Cultural and Economic Cooperation today announced the appointment of its new President, Mr. Snehal N Muzoomdar for the year 2010-2011. Mr. Muzoomdar has replaced Dr. V Rangaraj as President

Mr. Muzoomdar will be responsible for developing the Indo-US educational relationship and expansion of Indo-US bilateral trade, economic and industrial relations. He will be involved in planning and organising several U.S. Business delegations, trade missions and joint venture visits to India.

This year under Snehal Muzoomdar’s leadership, the committee plans to focus on the three main areas:

• Follow up seminars on Indo-US Summit on Higher Education

• Indo-US Cultural Festival, inter alia inviting American citizens studying and practicing Indian music and dance

• Leadership Conclave: India and U.S CXOs to participate in the conclave

Mr. Vijay Deshpande and Mr. Manoj Gursahani have been nominated as vice-presidents will assist Mr Mazoomdar in the Leadership Conclave

Mr. Snehal Muzoomdar is a Chartered Accountant by profession. Mr. Muzoomdar, an accomplished santoor player, has been invited by India Foundation to play at Ohio.

Indo-American Society had recently organized the first Indo-US Education Summit inaugurated by HRD Minister Kapil Sibal was founded in 1959 by stalwarts like late G. L. Mehta and in the past late Nani Palkhivala, Keshub Mahindra, S. Ramadorai and Nana Chudasama have led the Society.
