    Published on August 14, 2013

Bangalore : The Infosys Science Foundation in association with Sishu Griha Montessori and High School, organized the second edition of Limit Infinity, an inter-school fest aimed at fostering interest in science amongst school students. Over 300 students from 20 schools took part in the day-long event that was hosted by Infosys at its campus in Electronics City.

This year’s fest was organized keeping Physics as the central theme to commemorate the discovery of the ‘God Particle’ in 2012, widely regarded as one of the seminal breakthroughs of the 21st century in physical sciences.

Combining Physics and Applied Math in a fun way, the 2013 edition of Limit Infinity featured interesting sessions that revealed the magical world of Physics and its many marvels to young enthusiasts. Quizzes, Just-a-Minute (JAM), and ‘Futuristiks,’ a contest to showcase the design skills of students, were some of the sessions that took place during the day.

The event also featured an engaging lecture on ‘Frontiers of Physics’ by Prof. T.V. Ramakrishnan, a reputed theoretical physicist, Padma Shri award winner and a juror for the Infosys Prize in the Physical Sciences category. The lecture which commenced with an introduction to modern science, focused on an in-depth assessment of the frontiers of physics – the large, the small, complex, and the unclear.

Mr. Srinath Batni, President, Board of Trustees, Infosys Science Foundation and Member of the Board and Head of Delivery Excellence, Infosys said, “The pursuit of Physics has been a significant part of man’s curiosity to understand The Universe and unlock its secrets. However, Physics remains a mystery to most who try to learn it. The second edition of Limit Infinity is our effort jointly with Sishu Griha School to demonstrate how a subject like Physics can be extremely exciting and open new frontiers of discoveries for those who pursue it. It is, therefore, important to encourage young minds in our country to pursue Physics at advanced levels and open their minds to possibilities waiting to be unearthed.”

“Through Limit Infinity, we are bringing together a community of like minded schools in Bangalore that are interested in introducing new and different aspects of curricular subjects to their students,” added Mr. Batni.
