Internet marketing blog AutoTrafficAvalanche.org recently reported that the fastest way to lower the unemployment rate and reduce the load on the social budget is for Americans to start an Internet marketing business. As of the second quarter of 2010, 338,064 Americans lost their jobs, bringing the US unemployment rate to 9.5% as of July. According to the figures the US Bureau of Labor Statistics released yesterday, 131,000 of these workers were laid off in July alone.

“Starting an Internet marketing business has been, and still is, the fastest way to make money online,” said Peter Garety, blogger and CEO of AutoTrafficAvalanche.org.

“Anyone can earn a decent living as an Internet marketer as long as they have a computer and access to the Internet. They’ll have to follow a proven system and work consistently on their business,” Garety added. “You can earn an extra hundred bucks a day or a six-figure annual income, depending on what your goals for your business may be.”

The AutoTrafficAvalanche.org CEO defined Internet marketing simply as a method of promoting products and services online. These products and services do not have to be the Internet marketer’s own. They can find products to promote by going to online superstores like Amazon.com or visiting digital product marketplaces such as Clickbank.com.

Garety stated that whatever goods or services the Internet marketer chooses to push, there are many strategies that they can use to get the word out about their Internet marketing business. He said there are thousands of Internet marketing systems that discuss these strategies in more detail. He added that all anyone has to do is to pick a proven system to learn and then follow what the system says to the letter.

“It is suicide for an Internet marketer to play around and experiment with an already proven system when he or she is still new to the business,” said Garety. “It is a costly experiment where you’ll end up wasting your time and money and have nothing to show for it.”

Garety further explained that the profit made by any Internet marketing business depends largely on the online traffic that the marketer drives to their website. However, the AutoTrafficAvalanche.org CEO said while a high traffic volume is desirable, it has to be quality traffic as well. Quality traffic is made up of people who belong to the kind of audience that the marketer is targeting.

Inasmuch as starting an Internet marketing business is the fastest way to bring down the country’s unemployment rate, Garety cautions would-be Internet marketers to stop thinking of their business as a get-rich-quick scheme.

“You can earn a fortune from Internet marketing, that’s for sure. Thousands of people have done just that,” Garety said. “But this isn’t a scheme where you’ll get rich just by sitting down in front of your computer. You’ll have to work for every single penny that you get in the business.”
