Guwahati : Shocking incident from Assam, but it’s completely true. Assam Youth commits Suicide after losing money in IPL Betting. As per the information, a youth from Barpeta allegedly committed suicide after he lost a huge amount of money during the betting over the ongoing cricket matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Information from the sources that the youth, identified as Gitartha Pathak, was allegedly involved in IPL betting but in the last few days he was losing his bet over most of the matches. And the debt amount was so high that he was unable to repay back to the people whom he owns money. Unable to bear the tension and pressure, on May 20 he finally decided to take his life by jumping into the Mora Nodi river. On being intimated by the locals, police launched a search operation and his body was recovered on Monday by the river banks. Currently, the police is investigating the matter to figure out the exact reason behind his suicide. It may be mentioned that over the last few days, numerous reports of gambling rackets related to the IPL matches have been busted by the police. It assumed that Gitartha might have been a victim of such a racket. Police already started the investigation. The actual fact will be in focus after the investigation, informed police sources.
