  • Jagdish Shettar elected leader of BJP Legislature party in Karnataka

    Bangalore : The Karnataka BJP Legislature Party holding a meeting in Bangalore elects Jagadish Shettar as their new leader.

    Around 70 MLAs are attended the meeting while 50 other legislators supporting Gowda have skipped the meeting.

    Central observers Arun Jaitely, Rajnath Singh and General Secretary Dharmendra Pradhan are facing tough time in Karnataka amid lobbying for ministerial berths by rival camps of current Chief Minister Gowada and Shettar group.

    Decision for the post of Deputy Chief Minister is also likely to be taken in this meeting.

    Sadanand Gowda will submit his resignation to Governor H R Bhardwaj soon after the meeting.

    Shettar will also accompany him to stake his claim to form the government.

    Shettar is expected to take oath as Chief Minister on Wednesday.
