  • JD(U) legislative party elects Nitish Kumar as new leader, Manjhi sacked from party

    manjhiIn a day marked with hectic political activities in Bihar, Nitish Kumar has been elected JDU Legislature party leader.

    The decision was taken at the legislature party meet held a short while back. Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and five other ministers have been removed from the party.

    Earlier in the day last-minute patch up efforts between Jitan Ram Manjhi and his party failed after which the Chief Minister went ahead with proposing dissolution of he Assembly.

    The proposal was however overwhelmingly rejected by Cabinet ministers with 21 ministers walking out.

    Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Majhi held the cabinet meet and proposed dissolution of the assembly. The Bihar Chief Minister got support from 7 ministers, while the remaining 21 ministers walked out in protest.
