  • Mumbai: Jim Beam, the No.1 selling bourbon in the world, has been awarded with top honors for three of its expressions by International Wine Jim Beam portfolio shotand Spirit Competition (IWSC).

While Jim Beam Devil’s Cut Bourbon Whiskey 6 YO and Jim Beam Signature Craft Bourbon Whiskey 12 YO were awarded the Gold Award; Jim Beam Black Bourbon Whiskey 8 YO won Gold Outstanding Award, which is awarded only to outstanding expressions of excellent quality.

The 44th annual International Wine and Spirit Competition received entries from 90 countries worldwide and judges each entry according to its class. The judging takes place in two stages; entries are first scored via a blind taste test by over 300 highly experienced industry judges. Next, the top products undergo a technical analysis to ensure the winners receive complete validation.

“It is indeed an honor to be recognized by the International Wine and Spirit Competition. For over seven generations Jim Beam has delivered rich, unique and distinct product for bourbon aficionados”; said Arthur Aroney, Managing Director, Emerging Markets [Asia Pacific/South America Region], Beam Inc.

Jim Beam differentiates itself from other bourbon whiskies as it is aged for a minimum of four years to produce a smooth taste. It is the only American whiskey that has been distilled and sold by the same family for 7 generations since 1795.

It is available in two variants in India – Jim Beam White Label (aged for 4 years) and Jim Beam Black Label (aged for 8 years). Jim Beam is the largest selling bourbon whisky in the world and is also available in the Ready to Drink (RTD) format in certain markets globally.

“Very expressive nose with ripe cherries, fruit cake and liquorice leading followed by vanilla and cinnamon. Great intensity in the mouth with slow deliberate movement across the palate depositing flavors of dried dates, dark brown sugar and treacle. Great texture and super balance. Concentration of flavors lead into everlasting finish.”
