In Jammu & Kashmir, a soldier was killed in an ongoing counter-terrorism operation in North Kashmir’s frontier Kupwara district. The similar operation is also underway at Hajin area of Bandipora districts since early this morning.
Security sources confirmed that an army soldier was killed in the initial phase of an operation launched in Kralgund Handwara area in Kupwara district.
The counter-terrorist operations were launched on the basis of specific information about the presence of unknown terrorists in the two areas in two north Kashmir districts.
Sources added that in view of continuing infiltration bids along LoC in these north Kashmir’s districts also in Uri Sector in Baramulla district, the unknown armed terrorists may have infiltrated into these areas on this side of LoC. Details are awaited.
