Jorhat : Silpi Samaj of Jorhat district did not celebrated Silpi Divas on Thursday inead sastt for a protest program in front of Jorhat Theatre Hall premises where over 100s of artists took part in the program that was organized in the form of cultural way (sangeet), where along with prominent artists former Assam Chief Minister Tareun Gogoi along with many other Congress leaders took part in the protest program over scarping of the Citizenship (amendment) Bill-2016 here today.

Moreover patriotic songs were sung by one and all as the artists sounded all the Najawans to be ready to fight for the saving the motherland when the Centre is trying to sell the state of Assam by amending the Citizenship Bill -2016 which the people of Assam will never give chance to pass the Bill, said Sandhya Devi, a senior artist from the Silpi Samaj.
