Mumbai : The Economic Times Retail Awards, celebrating the best of global retail, were held recently in Mumbai in partnership with the Retailers Association of India ( RAI) and the glittering evening brought together over 100 leaders from the retail industry to recognise the brightest, best and the most innovative in the field. Kalyan Jewellers won the Emerging Retailer of the year award at the event.

This award recognizes the role of retailers whose innovation and confidence serve as examples for other sectors in the consumer service industry.  Kalyan Jewellers, won the honours for aggressively building a pan-India operations despite a slowing market.

The ET Retail Awards 2014’, an annual awards programme designed to celebrate best practices in the retail sector.  The Economic Times Retail award is planned to publicly recognize and encourage the pursuit of excellence in business operations, customer service, merchandise mix and corporate social development.

Some of the other winners were; Ajit Joshi, of Infiniti Retail, Cafe Coffee Day’s VG Siddhartha, and Department store chain Shoppers Stop amongst others.
