Karnataka’s 153 taluks out of 176 will be notified as drought affected during the Rabi season.
The Revenue Minister R V Deshpande informed media persons in Bengaluru today that the decision is based on the crop loss survey and ground indicators in these taluks.
The State as a whole has recorded deficit rainfall of minus 49 per cent. Saying that the estimated loss due to flood, landslides and drought during Kharif is more than 20,000 crores, he informed that the Survey on crop loss during Rabi season will be carried out across the state.
