The Kerala High Court today directed the State Police, Forest and Devaswom Departments to file report on Friday’s Uppupara stampede incident which claimed 102 lives. A Division Bench comprising Justice Thottathil B. Radhrakrishnan and Justice P.S. Gopinathan directed that the report be filed in the court before Thursday.
The court observed that the earlier directives on crowd-control measures were not taken seriously by the authorities. It also directed the government to furnish details of the steps taken to provide food and water to the stranded pilgrims in Pullumedu and measures taken to send them back home.
