  • KFON bags Infrastructure Initiative of the Year title at Asian Telecom Awards 2024

     Thiruvananthapuram : The Kerala state government’s ambitious project, Kerala Fibre Optic Network Limited (KFON), received the ‘Infrastructure Initiative of the Year’ award at the Asian Telecom Awards 2024 held at Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Singapore. The Asian Telecom Awards, organized by Asian Telecom, the leading international mobile and communication publication, is conducted annually to empower global industry leaders who drive innovation and pave the way for a hyperconnected future. KFON has now completed laying 96% of its total feasible fiber optic cable network of 28,888 kilometers. It also has 375 fully operational points of presence (POPs) across the state, ensuring uninterrupted functioning. KFON’s achievement reflects its commitment to exploring various technologically advanced possibilities and enabling the transformative power of communication technology within the Asian telecom landscape.

    KFON, a strategic initiative by the Government of Kerala, aims to provide affordable high-speed internet connectivity to every household and institution in the state through a state-of-the-art optical fiber network. The recognition highlights KFON’s position as a leader in shaping the future of telecommunications, empowering communities, and driving socio-economic development through technology.
