        Vijayawada : KL Deemed to be University, one of the leading universities in the country for graduation and higher education, has hosted an International Conference on the current scenario of the Tourism and Hospitality Sector to help benefit the next generation of culinary professionals. Over 200 students of reputed culinary institutions from numerous countries including Canada, Ethiopia, Liberia and India, pre-eminent chefs from overseas and representatives of the State’s Tourism Department have attended this pragmatic virtual conference. 

        The pandemic notwithstanding, the hospitality and tourism sectors are some of the most lucrative and fast-growing sectors in the world, and educational institutes nation-wide are discerning the need for standard education in the sector. KL Deemed to be University has earned a reputation for its qualitative, heuristic hospitality management studies, and hosting this global conference is a step towards nurturing unconventional yet rewarding career opportunities. During the conference, some of the key subject areas brushed by the global culinary experts includes, Trends and Issues in Hospitality Sectors, Hotel trends to watch in 2022 and Beyond, Tourism Factors affecting Green Supply chain management of Hotels, A boom for the Culinary and tourism sector.

        KL Deemed to be University emerged exemplary in the first edition of its virtual international hospitality conference, garnering futuristic insights from industry experts and educators across the world. Speaking during the conference, Dr.G. Pardha Saradhi Varma, Vice Chancellor, KL Deemed-to-be University said, “The catastrophic impact of COVID on the hospitality industry is undeniable.         Among the prominent speakers who addressed the Conference on “Tourism & Hospitality Sector: Present Scenario” included Smt. Lajwanti Naidu, Assistant Director – Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, Chef Girma, Roseau Hotel, Ethiopia, Chef Jeevan Mani, Executive Chef, ELMS Hotel, Sheffield, UK, Chef Dr. Raj Mohan, Junior Forum Coordinator – South India Chef’s Association, Moges G.M Olympic Hotel, Ethiopia, Prof. Dr. R. Kannan, Director, Centre for Research of Tourism and Hospitality, Madurai Kamaraj University, and Mandefro G.M KZ hotel, Addis Abba, among others. The renowned speakers like Dr. Thamimul Ansari, Associate Professor, University of Gondar, Ethiopia, and Mr. H. Umar sheriff, Project Manager – Hospitality & Catering – IECD, Liberia also address the sessions. Dr. T. Milton, Dean- THM, Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai and Mr. Amol Kumar, Senior faculty, NCHMCT, Noida acted as Chairpersons in the Technical sessions. 

        With the inaugural session by Dr. M. Kishore Babu, Dean, Management, Humanities and Sciences along with the Convener Dr. P. Srinivasan, HoD, Department of Hotel Management in presence of other KL University Officials; the conference proceedings were taken ahead successfully.
