  • Kodak Hunts For India’s Best Wedding Photographer

    Mumbai: Kodak India comes up with the second edition of its ‘India’s best wedding photographer of the year’ contest for citizens of India, in association with Better Photography magazine. Kodak is the title sponsor of the event and this contest is aimed to recognize those who capture moments and make them timeless in wedding ceremonies. Entrants can participate in multiple themes with a maximum of four entries per theme. The six first-prize winners of each theme will compete for the title of ‘Wedding Photographer of the Year 2010’ through a face-off contest. This exclusive contest for wedding photographers is being organized for the second time in India. The last year contest was a huge success with over 8,000 entries across the country.

    Participation forms are also available at select Kodak labs. Those interested can also participate by filling up participation form available in Kodak labs or latest issue of Better Photography magazine and send their photographs printed on Kodak Paper by courier / post / hand delivery to Infomedia18 Limited, Better Photography, Ruby House, J K Sawant Marg, Dadar (w), Mumbai – 400 028. The last date to submit entries is February 10, 2011.

    The photographers will be judged under 6 categories including bridal portraiture, family and friends, behind the scenes, couple portraiture, emotions and photo series on a single wedding. Entries will be judged on the basis of interpreting and expressing the theme, along with the technical and aesthetic quality of the photograph. Participants can submit their entries online by logging on to www.betterphotography.in/wpoy and upload their images. Award nominees will be announced in the March 2011 issue of Better Photography and the final winners will be showcased in the April 2011 issue. The final award winner get prizes worth Rs. 1 lac and each category winner will get prizes worth Rs. 25,000 each.

    • I was aware of such contests being held in US and UK. Its the first time I am coming across such a contest being held in India. This is really interesting stuff to read. I enjoyed it a lot. Please do let the crowd know about the winners.
