  • Komaki bolsters customer trust with launch of fire-resistant LiFePO4 batteries

    Published on August 2, 2022

New Delhi: Enhancing its primary focus on making clean and green transportation safer, leading electric vehicle manufacturer Komaki has introduced lithium ion ferro phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries which are more fire resistant. The cells in the LiFePO4 batteries contain iron, making the batteries more safe and secured from fire even in extreme cases. The number of cells has also been reduced by one-third, which will reduce the cumulative heat generated inside the battery pack. LiFePO4 have life cycle of 2500-3000, which is far more as compared to 800 life cycle in NMC batteries.

An active balancing mechanism has been developed and added to the batteries to actively balance the battery cells in every few seconds. With the launch of this futuristic battery, Komaki customers will now be facilitated with app-based service, which will provide real-time data. The hardware battery management system (BMS) has now been changed to advanced communication-based protocol, which will read and update the status of the battery every second. The advanced and powerful LiFePO4 battery provides a mileage of more than 300 Km on a single charge in komaki Venice and 180 Km in Komaki SE and TN95, which is higher than the batteries installed earlier.

“This breakthrough will further establish Komaki as a trusted brand in the market. We have developed an easy-to-use mobile application which will notify the end users and dealers about the battery health. It will also allow original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to repair the batteries from a central location. This will avoid unnecessary to and fro of batteries that can lead to transit damage,” said Gunjan Malhotra, Director, Komaki Electric Division.

This application developed will also substitute analyzer machines which cost an approximate 12 -15 lakh for 12 channels. The new Komaki-developed application can analyze 250 batteries at a time with real time update every second. The Komaki LiFePO4 batteries will be available in all Komaki Models from next month onward.

Komaki has emerged as one of the most reliable and well-equipped players in the industry by providing quality services at nominal prices. In just four years of existence, Komaki has established a strong dealership network with over 350 showrooms. Komaki has the widest range of electric 2 wheelers, with 9 low-speed models and 6 high-speed registration models. “We have already earned the reputation in the Indian EV domain for our products being of high-quality, high-performance, excellent strength, sporty design, low maintenance, and long service life,” mentioned Gunjan Malhotra.
