Thiruvananthapuram: The Adani Trivandrum Royals have finalized their squad for the second season of the Kerala Cricket League (KCL), naming Krishnaprasad as captain and Govind Dev Pai as vice-captain of the 16-member team. The squad features a strong blend of youth and experience, with notable players including Basil Thampi and Abdul Basith.
Krishnaprasad’s appointment comes on the back of an impressive domestic season. A consistent performer for Kerala, he starred in the Vijay Hazare Trophy with a century to his name. He also made a mark in the previous KCL season while playing for the Alleppey Ripples, scoring 192 runs and emerging as one of their top batsmen.
Govind Dev Pai, widely regarded as one of Kerala cricket’s most promising young talents, will serve as the team’s deputy. He impressed during Kerala’s tour of Oman and finished among the top scorers last season with 300 runs from 11 matches, including two half-centuries.
Former Ranji Trophy Cricketer S. Manoj has been appointed as head coach of the team. The franchise is owned by the S. Priyadarshan, Jose Pattara consortium, with Riyas Adam serving as team director. Speaking on the team’s composition, Riyas noted that the Royals have put together a balanced unit featuring both emerging players and seasoned campaigners.
The upcoming KCL season will be held at Greenfield Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram, from August 21 to September 6.
