Landfall process of Super Cyclonic Storm Amphan over North West Bay of Bengal begins

The landfall process of the Super Cyclonic Storm Amphan over North West Bay of Bengal has begun and it will continue for about four hours.

IMD said, the forward sector of the wall cloud region is entering into land in West Bengal.

It lays centred as an Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm over Northwest Bay of Bengal, about 190 kilometres east-northheast of Paradip in Odisha, 65 kilometres east-southeast of Digha and 35 kilometres south of Sagar Island in West Bengal.

Due to the cyclone Paradeep witnessed 87.1 M.M. rainfall, Bhubaneswar 33.8 M.M. and Balasore 48.4 M.M. rainfall.

Kolkata witnessed 30.4 M.M. rainfall, Digha 56.4 M.M. and HALDIA 34.8 M.M. rainfall.
