  • Lovely Professional University arranging Workshops for Talented Students Free of Cost

    Jalandhar:  In order to tinker the talented students of the University further well, the Department of Fine Arts of Lovely Professional University has arranged special free of cost workshops. These workshops of two weeks duration, in the fields of Music, Dance, Theatre, Sculpture and Painting, will culminate on 30th July, 2011. Eminent National/ International Exponents in their respective fields are to conduct the workshops. The Inauguration Ceremony for the same was held, today, with lighting of the lamp by the Pro-Chancellor, Ms Rashmi Mittal, at Shri Baldev Raj Memorial Auditorium of the University.

    Elaborating about the arrangements of many such sessions, the Pro-Chancellor, Ms Rashmi Mittal said: “We always want that our students should get groomed well to fit in the global society, in the fields of their very disposition.” She added: “This two weeks schedule will let the talented students learn, share & exhibit more than before, the best of qualities still lying hidden deep within them.” She further said: “We are going to accord them the services of great mentors (Gurus) of immense repute. This way, they will be able to shape themselves well, under the guidance of them, to further compete at national/international levels.” Explaining more, she said: “We have arranged these workshops for all those students who have already been attending open elective classes and clubs throughout the year, university performers at various levels, pursuing courses like Fine Arts and Performing Arts; and, above all, those who are availing or going to avail scholarships on the basis of their cultural achievements.” She also informed: “We are also according scholarships of great values by inviting new talented students, this session. The national/ international artists are to be provided with free boarding and Lodging, Full Tuition Fee waiver and, even, cash reward of Rs 25000 per semester, depending upon the grade and scale of their participation at national/international level.”

    It is illustrative that internationally renowned Dr. Hukam Chand from Rohtak will train the students for Vocal Music, Sh. Pritpal Singh (Nangal) for Folk Dance (Bhangra), Sh. Panna Lal Gangani Ji (Chandigarh) for Classical Dance, Sh. R. C. Pathak & Sh. Mahipal Singh (Kanpur & Kaithal respectively) for Theatre, Sh. Ahmer Saleem Usmani (Chandigarh) for Western Dance, Sh. Rattan Prasanna (New Delhi) for Guitar and Sh. Padam Chand from New Delhi will guide these aspiring students for Sculpture and Painting.

    It is also highlighting that under overwhelming responses, students are very eager and enthusiastic towards these skill enhancement workshops. A few of such students Srishti, Renu, Mohit, Harnoor, Debaditya, Shwetima, Puneet, Rajeshwar, franklin and Rasool have vowed to bring laurels to their alma mater through these training sessions, as they aspire to shine ahead in their lives, too. It is worth describing that the students selected from these workshops will be further trained and exposed to perform at higher platforms. Certificates of participation will also be provided to the selected students.
