  • Lt. Gen. CP Mohanty says, with changing nature of modern warfare Indian army has focused on modernization and technological advancement

    Lieutenant General Chandi Prasad Mohanty, recently appointed as the next Vice Chief of Indian army has said that in view of the changing nature of modern warfare, the Indian army has focused on modernization and technological advancement.   

    Interacting with the local media during his visit to the Sainik School at Bhubaneswar in Odisha today, the Lieutenant-General said that the Indian army has been receiving constant support from the Prime Minister and the Defence Minister for capacity development and infrastructure improvement.

    AIR Correspondent reports, stating that China is modernising in a big way while still assisting Pakistan on that front, Lt. General Mr. Mohanty said the Indian Army is constantly upscaling it’s prowess through better weapon systems, better communication systems and infrastructural upgradation. Being an Odia himself, the Vice Chief designate called upon the youths of the State to join the defence forces. He said, at least one youth from every village of Odisha should join the forces to act as role models for others. For this to happen, he elaborated, the youths need to be encouraged.
