  • “Magh Bihu” is being celebrated with fanfare in Assam

     Guwahati : Despite the severe crisis caused by the corona epidemic, the festival of Magh Bihu is being celebrated today with great fanfare in India’s northeastern state of Assam. It is also called bhogali Bihu Festival in the prevailing language of Assam. The festival of Magh Bihu is celebrated to celebrate the joy of harvesting crops in Assam.

    The festival of Magh Bihu begins with Makar Sankranti and lasts for the whole week. People from all over the country come to Assam to celebrate magh Bihu Festival. Magh Bihu is one of the important festivals of Assam. It is celebrated with great fanfare. The people of Assam celebrate Magh Bihu with great joy and gaiety. The festival of Magh Bihu is also celebrated on the lines of Lohri and Pongal. On this day, the people of Assam thank nature and God for their good yields of crops and harvest the crops that have been cooked from the fields.

    The people of Assam consider the beginning of the new year with this festival. Like Pongal, Bihu is also a festival of farmers. Farmers harvest crops and thank God for the crops. Dishes are prepared from grains prepared from the new crop. First of all, these dishes are offered to God. Apart from Magh Bihu, Bohag Bihu and Kongali Bihu are also celebrate. Bihu Festival is celebrated when the new crop is ready. Apart from preparing a lot of dishes, people happily sing and dance traditionally. Traditional nutritional wear. Raw turmeric and urad are bathed with dal paste. They wear new clothes.

    They take blessings from elders. Give each other a gift. They eat curd and jaggery with rice in the nails. The opportunities of Magh Bihu’s dish Magh Bihu, which are prepared, are prominent among them Khar, Potato Pitika, Jacques, Masor Tenga. Along with papaya, the charred banana stem is made by using khar. In potato, boiled potatoes are added to the boiled potatoes, onions, green chillies, green coriander, salt, mustard oil. It is served with rice, dal, lemon. Jacques contains green leafy vegetables while Masor Tenga has fish dishes.

    The people of Assam have a night-time meal programme on the last day of magh Bihu festival. Then people enjoy this festival by dancing around the fire. According to an estimate, more than Rs. 100 crores of Laddu and Petha are made in the Magh Bihu festival. In addition, mutton and fish dishes are the main attractions in the festival of Magh Bihu Festival. In Assam, the demand for fish and mutton increases more during this festival. President of India Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah greeted the people of Assam today in Assam language on the occasion of Magh Bihu festival. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted the countrymen on different festivals being celebrated in different states of the country. He said that it is a celebration of India’s diversity, which we are proud of its self.
