  • Maharashtra, Gujarat celebrating foundation day today

    foundation dayThe 53rd Maharashtra Foundation Day is being celebrated today. Various programmes have been organised to mark the occasion. In an official programme held at Shivaji Park in central Mumbai, Governor K Shankarnarayan unfurled the National Flag to mark the celebrations. He took salute from the ceremonial parade and delivered the Maharashtra Day message to the people on this occasion.

    CM Pritviraj Chavan also greeted people on the occasion of Maharashtra Day. In his message for the people Mr Chavan said that, state government has successfully kept the state on number one position in various sectors like industry, investment, education, rural development and infrastructure. He further assured that government will do all possible efforts to find permanent solution for drought. He also greeted people on the occasion of World Labour Day.

    Gujarat is celebrating its 53rd installation day today. Gujarat came into existence as a separate state on 1st May 1960 from erstwhile Bombay state. Our Ahmedabad Cosrrespondent reports that state installation day is being celebrated as Gujarat Gaurav Diwas through out the state to mark the occasion.
