Guwahati : Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) is supplying huge quantities of arms and ammunition to terrorist outfits in north-eastern India. According to intelligence reports of the Indian Army, at least 20 Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) militants have entered the West Bengal border from the neighbouring country in the first week of September 2021 and 10 of them have moved to and are secretly operating in different parts of India including the Northeast. Sources said that while the country’s administration system is engaged in the service of the people due to the Covid-19 epidemic virus, terrorist organizations in Bangladesh and Pakistan are supplying huge quantities of arms and ammunition to terrorist organizations in the north-eastern states of India to assist them.
According to intelligence reports of the Indian Army, the Union Home Ministry has alerted police and security agencies of all north eastern states. Meanwhile, a large quantity of explosives have already been recovered before Durga Puja in Guwahati district of Assam. Police have recovered gelatin sticks worth over Rs 15 crore from Rupnath Brahma Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) in Guwahati. Gelatin sticks have been recovered from a pickup van with registration number 15 AC 4867. As per preliminary reports, gelatin sticks were being transported from Shillong in Meghalaya to Rani near Guwahati town in Assam.
Two persons have also been arrested in connection with the seizure in a well-planned operation carried out by Indian Army intelligence agencies, Assam Police and CRPF along the Meghalaya-Assam-Bangladesh border. The arrested persons have been identified as Rahim Badshah and Anul Ali.
