  • Malyavi Karunodaya Society celebrates Women’s Day and organizes Fashion Show with a theme ‘Revival”

    Hyderabad :A fifteen years old, Hyderabad based non-profit organization, Malyavi Karunodaya Society celebrates World Women’s Day.  To mark the occasion and celebrate the same it has organized a Fashion Show.

    Addressing the 300 plus gathering, Smt. K. Krishnamma, Founder and Chairman said ‘Revival’ is the theme of the Fashion Show.  Revive old ties, values, friendship, connections, age-old living habits, lifestyles, environment, and water bodies, revive everything that was good, useful, she said. In this show, one sequence is totally dedicated to Kalamkari Sundarbans.  That again goes in tune with the theme ‘revival’.  This Kalamkari art and fabric which is an ancient organic artwork is the face of India’s heritage.  It is a dying art. It has to be revived.

    Founder Krishnamna sarted doing social service from her 10years of age by donating whatever was provided to her by her parents.

    The 36years old social worker, Krishnamma, who has been working for the development of the people in the rural areas, gave a clarion call on this women’s day to serve with a smile and said service to the humanity is the service to the god.

    We are constructiong 2500 houses almost for free of cost fir poor villagers in and around Aler in Nalgonda District. 1500 houses will be inaugurated by tgis July, she shared.

    Giving background of the Malyavi, Krishnamma said, we all may not do everything. But, we all can do something.   Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love with this noble thought in mind, Malyavi Karunodaya Society was founded, she added.

    The show was produced by Srikanth Gatla of a Fashion Choreographer from SG Fashion.

    We are a non-profit organization.  Malyavi Karunodaya Society has been working in Nalgonda, Ranga Reddy, and Hyderabad Districts. We have been working in the field of health, education, environment, agricultural, women and child development said Smt. K. Krishnamma.

    Speaking further while welcoming the gathering, Krishnamma said, we work with Old aged, Physically Challenged, Orphans and Poor children.  Malyavi Karunodaya Society has been providing free tailoring training for housewives and poor people. We have trained a little over 5000 people. The training programs were organized through NSDC–National Skills Development Corporation, a Public Private Partnership Company set up to create and fund vocation training and skill development. We have recently embarked on an ambitious project “Malyavi Nilayalu”, providing shelter to the homeless rural people, Krishnamma added.

    The show was conceptualized by Srikanth Gatla of SG Fashion, a well known Fashion Choreographer, Model Trainer, Srikanth has many shows such as Tanishq, VRK Silks, Swarnakanchi, Mebaz, Hyderabad Central, Kalanjali and Ramoji Film City and others to his credit.

    The show featured ten female models of the city.  It has three sequences of 15 minutes each. The model sported Meenakshi, Mithila, and Kalamkari Sundarbans collection of clothes provided by Kalanjali, the one stop shop for handicrafts and handlooms is providing the dresses for the show. Draped in in-house Pattu sarees the sequence captivated the audience with its stunning collection, followed by sequence two that featured Meenakshi collection.  It has a mix of both garments and sarees.  The last and final sequence was focused on Kalamkari Sunderbans. There again model walking wearing six garments and 4 sarees
