Mangaldai : Bringing a sigh of relief to the economically weaker family members of as many as 73 patients suffering from serious ailments and hailing from the Mangaldai Loksabha area, Dilip Saikia, Parliamentarian of the Loksabha distributed one time financial assistance to each of the patients.
The cheques of the total fund amounting to Rs 13 lakh from the Chief Minister’s special assistance package were distributed ceremonially in a public function held on October 31 here at the MP’s residential campus. Speaking on the occasion MP Saikia said that the onetime financial aid is the part of the philanthropic initiatives taken up by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma which would provide some kind of relief to the patients who are unable to bear the medical expenses due to their poor financial conditions.
He also urged upon the people to gather knowledge about the series of benevolent schemes of the present BJP led government both at the State and the Center and avail its benefits in quick time without any middlemen practice as found in the earlier government. The cheque distribution ceremony was also attended by Joint Director of Health Services, Darrang, former Mangaldai Legislator Gurujyoti Das, BJP leaders Sewali Goswami Kalita, Pratap Bordoloi, Krishna Saha and others.
