    Mangaldai MP Dilip Saikia launched special Swachhata campaign for Mangaldai town

    Mangaldai:: Mangaldai Loksabha MP , Dilip Saikia has urged upon the tax paying citizens Mangaldai Municipal Board area to make promise to keep their town neat and clean. He was addressing as the chief guest in the inaugural function of the four day long special campaign of Swachh Bharat Mission ( Urban) in view of the ongoing ‘Ajadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ organised by the municipal authority here at the district library auditorium on September 29. MP Saikia said, ” The place where we maintain the best possible cleanliness is our temple or mosque because the Iswar or the Allah exists there.”

    He also appealed to the families of the 5,500 odd tax payer’s households to pay relevant taxes to the agencies engaged to collect the garbage from their door steps . At the same time he expressed his concern for not having a definite dumping ground of the municipal board and asked the district administration to resolve the issue on priority basis without further delay. MP, Dilip Saikia in his spech sought the necessary cooperation from Mangaldai Legislator Basanta Das and other stake holders cutting across the politica barriers in solving the civic problems of district headquarter town. Earlier he ceremonially began the distribution process of 18 nos of garbage carrying tricycles to the agencies engaged for its disposal. The function chaired by Rini Hazarika, the Executive Officer of the organizer, Mangaldai Municipal Board was also addressed by Mangaldai Legislator Basanta Das, President of Mangaldai Chambers of Commerce Mukul Chandra Deka, Associate Professor of Mangaldai College, Dr Kamala Kanta Borah and Bijay Kr Sarma of the PHE department among others. The objectives of the function was explained by the concern program manager Heramba Kakati . The inaugural function will be followed by several other Swachhata programmes like community toilet cleanliness , waste to art exhibition and ‘safaimitra amrit samman samaroh ‘.
