    Kolkata: Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC) – One of the leading 3D Animation & Visual Effects (VFX) training institutes organized IMG_5646 (2)Manifest 2013, a seminar on animation & VFX today, at Ballygunge in Kolkata. Manifest 2013 sensitized the students on the roads to a great career in animation. The event witnessed over 600 participants assembled in Kolkata.

    Chief Guest, Shri Susanta Majumdar (IAS), Secretary, IT & Electronics Dept, Government of West Bengal graced the event with his presence. VFX experts, Mr. Madhusudhanan and Mrs. Asmita Bharati held an interactive session on ‘The Art of Invisible VFX’, enlightening animation aspirants on different facets of VFX industry. The making of ‘Life of PI’ by Subhajit Sarkar, Rhythm & Hues studios, was an eye opener for many present, who were able to recognize the effort behind the magic thus created by this film.

    MAAC launched three new centers at Hyderabad, Mumbai and Patna in the past two months.  At present, MAAC has six centres in Kolkata and is planning to launch two more this financial year. More than 10,000 students have being trained so far and 70 % of them have being placed at reputed studios and production houses. MAAC is the preferred choice of many studios like Technicolor, Rhythm and Hues, Maya Digital, Prime focus, Red Chillies, UTV to name a few.

    “The efforts put in by MAAC in creating awareness on animation & VFX are commendable. I am delighted to learn about various aspects of animation in today’s session by the industry experts”, commented Mr. Susanta Majumdar, Secretary, IT & Electronics Dept, Government of West Bengal.

    At the successful completion of MAAC Manifest 2013, Mr. Shajan Samuel, Sr. Vice President, MAAC said, “It is very rare that students get such highly accomplished experts in the field of animation to interact with the students. An event like this helps educate the masses about Animation as a progressive career for future generation of the country.”
