In a freewheeling chat, fashion designer Masaba Gupta unveiled the cover of politician and former actor Smriti Zubin Irani’s debut novel, Lal Salaam. Published by Westland, Lal Salaam is an action-packed thriller that humanises the daily conflicts and ethical dilemmas that are intrinsic to modern life in India today.
Talking about new avatar as an author, Smriti Irani told Masaba Gupta, “I have always had this hunger to do more. I have been toying with the idea of writing about this subject for the past three years but I was not sure if there’s anyone who would understand the rage and reasoning behind it. But eventually I did. I am very lucky that I have got such diverse opportunities in my life–becoming an author is one of them.”
Lal Salaam will be available for sale across all online and offline bookstores in India on 29 November 2021.
