  • MEA Sushma Swaraj meets her Ghanaian counterpart Shirley Ayorkor Botchway in New Delhi

    External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj met his Ghanaian counterpart Shirley Ayorkor Botchway in New Delhi today and discussed ways to strengthen the relations between the two countries.
    In a tweet, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said, the two leaders held delegation-level talks and deliberated upon ways to enhance co-operation in development, capacity building, trade and investment and people-to-people relationship.
    Ms Botchway reached India on Monday on a four-day visit. India-Ghana relations have traditionally been warm and close, based on common history, shared vision and values. Ghana is one of India’s important partners in West Africa.
    Bilateral trade stands at 3.5 billion dollars. There is a sizeable Indian community in Ghana numbering around 10,000.
