    Mercedes-Benz India posts highest ever sales in August 2010

    • Month of August: Witnessed a growth of 112% sales closing at 573 units. (August 2009: 270 units)
    • Total of 3497 units sold in Jan-August 2010 which is a 84% growth over corresponding period 2009 (Jan-August 2009 – 1899units)
    • The all New E-Class (206 units) & C-Class (256 units) continued to drive volumes for August 2010

    Pune – Continuing its strong growth story, Mercedes-Benz India today announced a record sales of 573 units in August 2010, marking a growth of 112 % over the same period in 2009 (270 units in August 2009).  This brings the total sales volume in Jan-August 2010 to 3497units (1899 units in Jan-August 2009) which is a strong growth of 84% on a year-on-year basis.

    Driving record numbers was the E-Class with 206 units sold in August 2010 registering a growth of 312% over July 2009 (50 units: August 2009). The C-Class also reinforced its popularity by clocking 256 units in August 2010, which corresponds to a growth of 50% over August 2009 ( 171 units: August 2009).

    The growth recorded by Mercedes-Benz in August marks a continuation of the current positive trend. Apart from an exciting array of products introduced in the Indian market, the popularity of the Three-Pointed Star is also the collective result of initiatives undertakne by the organization. Dr. Wilfried Aulbur, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India elaborated: “Exciting products and exciting ways to showcase such products have been our constant endeavor. Our initiatives in 2010 have been targeted at customers from large as well as medium and small cities… the objective has been- to showcase our complete range, to get them to experience the real life thrill and capability of our vehicles and to help them appreciate the strong lifestyle connect and aspirational value of the Mercedes brand. Our strong sales performance continued throughout 2010 are a result of such customer focused initiatives.”
