MICT celebrates Road Safety Week to encourage safe driving

DSC02919Mundra, : Mundra International Container Terminal (MICT), a state-of-the-art terminal facility at Mundra, celebrated Road Safety Week from January 12 to January 16, 2015. MICT reiterated its commitment towards the safety and well-being of its employees and other stakeholders as a part of their responsible business practice. A host of noble initiatives were undertaken on this occasion at the terminal and beyond the gates to promote the importance of road safety. MICT conducted various road safety awareness programs at places like MICT Township, External CFS, External Truck parking area and at the terminal.

The Quality, Health, Safety, Environment & Training (QHSE&T) team along with the MICT management representatives came together to organize several initiatives to reiterate the significance of maintaining decorum on road to avoid mishaps. The one week campaign was targeted towards the employees and their families, drivers, operators and the local community.

During the road safety week, safety posters and presentations were shown to the drivers and attendees.

The objective of road safety campaign was:

•               To encourage pedestrian to follow road safety rules.

•               To encourage drivers to follow Road Safety Rules for his own as well other’s safety

•               To assist young people to acquire the competencies to be responsible, safer citizens

•               To help young people take steps to improve road safety in their community
