  • Minister Pramila Rani Brahma held Flood Review meeting in Kokrajhar

    Kokrajhar: Assam Social Welfare and Soil Conservation Minister Pramila Rani Brahma on Friday held a flood review meeting at Kokrajhar DC’s conference hall with various line departments in the district.

    The meeting chaired Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Partha Pratim Mazumdar was attended by Gossaigaon MLA Majendra Narzary, officials of various departments in the district.

    During the meeting, the minister took department wise reports to assess the actual damages caused by the current flood waters for preparation of proposal for onward submission to the state government.

    The Deputy Commissioner asked all concerned officials to submit proposal under SDRF within 9th August, 2019. The SDO (Civil) Parbatjhora was asked for assessment of Agriculture and other line departments immediately.

    The meeting also decided to conduct Review meeting of agriculture department for proper assessment and timely submission of different proposals. The PWD (RR) has been allotted 55 crores and asked to submit revised proposal under SDRF Scheme. The Irrigation department was asked to submit SDRF proposal for Sapkata Canal.

    The minister asked WRD dept to submit proposal for embankment breach and others under SDRF and RIDF. Further she asked the department to prepared new embankment proposal from railway bridge cremation ground to Bhotgaon village.

    Minister Pramila Rani Brahma said Kokrajhar district did not received any funds post flood last time as the district has failed to submit the damaged assessment report. She said this should not happen this year and urged the department concerns to submit the reports in time so that it could be sent to the state government.

    The Deputy Commissioner also instructed all SDO’S (Civil) and Revenue Circle Officers to keep Drums in their respective areas for the flood affected people to ensure safe drinking water during the time of Flood.
