A true traveler can never afford to miss Missouri, for this lovely state of America and its unadulterated natural beauty has always fascinated tourists says Teena Renfro.

Missouri, the most enticing  piece of land in the American continent always fascinated  travellers from across the globe.This cute State and its  inviting water ways water ways are purely special and cannot be found anywhre in the world. Like that the theme parks also.

Ever wonder what was off the beaten path. One of the unique places is the Ralph Foster Museum located in Point Lookout. Its best known exhibit is the cut-down 1921 Oldsmobile truck used in the original Beverly Hillbillies TV series. There is a restored one-room school house and Mrs Fosters chair, made of steer long horns. You will find artifacts from the army, Native Americans, and cowboys. A couple of the exhibits, such as the Ozark Mountain Music Pioneers  Hall of Fame and The History of the Ozarks in the Twentieth Century, honor people whose fame doesn’t extend very far from home. The museum is dedicated to preserving anything that relates to the Ozarks or that the people of the Ozarks find interesting.

In Branson, the Titanic: Worlds Largest Museum Attraction is an exceptional look at the sunken ship. You can hear fog horns and the clanking of bells while you walk across the Bridge and muffled voices as you descend down a replica of the beautiful Grand Staircase. Stand on the Promenade deck to look at the starry sky on the last night of the voyage. You will sit in a life boat and walk up steep slopping decks in the sinking room. Some of the exhibits show how cold the 28 degree salt water really was and another one demonstrates the pressure the ship was under as it was sinking to the bottom of the ocean. The attraction is an excellent resource for history buffs. It has over 400 artifacts from the 1912 ship. More than any other Titanic “museum”.

St. Joseph offers Glore Psychiatric Museum. It was started in 1967 by George Glore, a lifetime employee of the Missouri mental health system. It is four floors of unusual historic psychiatric devices and memorabilia . There is the “Bath of Surprise,” a gallows like platform that dumped patients into ice cold water. You will see a giant patient treadmill – a locked mega-gerbil-wheel monstrosity where patients walked off excess energy. Many of the exhibits were used by Glore himself: hydrotherapy, lobotomy instruments, and a fever cabinet used for heating syphilis victims to mention only a few. The Glore Museum still collects artifacts and showcases patient art: in the basement you can even catch a glimpse of a working morgue.
