Monsoon is expected to advance further in the next 36 hours after the weakening of Cyclone Vayu. Monsoon made an onset over Kerala on 8th of June, nearly a week after its usual onset date.
Talking to AIR News, senior scientist in India Meteorological Department, IMD, K Sathi Devi said, Cyclone Vayu is expected to weaken within 24 to 36 hours and this will pave the way for monsoon winds to move up towards the Arabian Sea.
