  • MP govt suspends three officials for failing to contain situation during farmers’ agitation

    In Madhya Pradesh, the state government has suspended the then collector of Mandsour Swatantra Kumar Singh, superintendent of police O P Tripathi and city superintendent of police Krishna Sai Thote. According to an official release, prima facie it appears that these officials could not control the situation during farmers agitation. AIR correspondent reports, five farmers were killed in police firing in Mandsour district on 6th of this month during the farmer’s agitation. Curfew was imposed to control the situation. Earlier the state government had shifted collector Swatantra Kumar Singh, SP O P TRIPATHI and CSP Krishna Sai Thota officials. But taking a strong action, these officials were suspended on Wednesday.  A judicial commission has been set up to probe the Mandsour violence. In a major development the state government has changed collectors of 18 districts including Bhopal and Indore.
