  • MP govt to recommend CBI probe into IPS officer killing

    Madhya Pradesh : In Madhya Pradesh, the state government has decided to recommend a CBI inquiry into the alleged murder of young IPS Narendra Kumar by the mining mafia in Morena district. Talking to media in Bhopal today chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan clarified that this decision was not taken under the pressure of the opposition Congress.

    He said that the IAS wife Madhu Tewatia of slain police officer had requested a CBI inquiry during a telephonic conversation with him. When asked about the fate of judicial probe announced earlier, chief minister said that the state government will look into all the legalities in this regard. Mr. Chouhan alleged that Congress is trying to get political mileage from this incident

    On the other hand the leader of opposition in the state legislative assembly Ajay Singh said that the murder of IPS officer was preplanned. He said that mobile phone, purse and revolver of Narendra Kumar are still missing. He said that had government taken strict action against mining mafia earlier, Narendra Kumar would be alive today.

    Earlier, the state legislative assembly which met after ten day recess today witnessed pandemonium on the issue as Congress members demanded CBI inquiry into the incident.
