On 7th July, 2012, Ms. Syeda, Hameed, Member of the Planning Commission, Govt. of India, visited The Heritage School Kolkata for a book reading session on her own book ” Beautiful Country: Stories from Another India” . She was also accompanied by Ms. Gunjan Veda, co-author of the same book and CEO of iRead Books Private Limited. Ms Hameed spoke about some excerpts from the book which was of immense importance for the development of India. The students of the Heritage school got energized on hearing the excerpts which gave them an overview of different faces of our country. ” 12th Five year plan will be introduced in India in the month of December and it will very much focus on inclusive growth. Moreover it will address to the needs of those people who are in a difficult situation in the country and are unable to get the basic amenities including proper education,” said Ms. Hameed during the interaction with the students. She was welcomed by Shri Pradip Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions, Ms. Seema Sapru, Principal, The Heritage School, Ms M.Atal, Vice-principal, The Heritage School and other faculty members. More than 200 students attended the programme and among them students of special needs were also present.

Such event makes a difference in the future of our country.
